Ms Maria Th. Kotouza received her Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in July 2016, and a Ph.D. degree from the same Department at the Intelligent Systems & Software Engineering Labgroup (ISSEL), under the supervision of the professor Mr. Pericles Mitkas. Her research interests lie in the field of Software Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Data Mining and Machine Learning.

She has worked as a Software Engineer in European and National Research Projects from November 2016 till August 2020. She has also worked at the Centre of Research & Technology - Hellas (CERTH), at the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB), performing Big Data Analytics in gene sequence data. Currently, she is working as a Data and Software Engineer in National Research projects. Additionally, she has worked as a teaching assistant in the Department courses: (a) Data Structures and (b) Object Oriented Programming. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and an Instructor at Software Carpentry. She currently works as a Software Engineer at Beta Cae Systems, at the Geometry Division & Meshing team.
